We value your trust and apply the utmost care and highest security standards to protect your personal information from unauthorized access.
The processing of personal data on our website is carried out in accordance with the applicable data protection regulations, in particular the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), the Telecommunications Telemedia Data Protection Act (TTDSG) and on the basis of this data protection declaration.

We, the German Library Association (dbv), the Professional Information Library Association (BIB) and the VDB – Association of German Librarians, work closely together in recruiting personnel.

To ensure your rights and taking into account the requirements of the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), we have concluded an agreement that sets out rules for the processing of your personal data.

Due to the collaboration, we also process your personal data together.

As so-called joint controllers (according to Art. 26 GDPR), we are jointly responsible for your data.

Data processing on our website

When you visit our website, our web server temporarily saves every access in a log file.
The following data is collected and stored until automated deletion:

• IP address of the requesting computer
• Date and time of access
• Name and URL of the file accessed
• Amount of data transferred
• Report as to whether retrieval was successful
• Identification data of the browser and operating system used.

This data is processed for the purpose of enabling the use of the website (establishing a connection), system security, technical administration, network infrastructure and optimizing the Internet offering. We cannot assign this data to specific people. This data will not be merged with other data sources; Moreover, after a statistical analysis, the data will be erased.

The legal basis for data processing is Section 25 Paragraph (2) No. 2 TTDSG, Art. 6 Paragraph (1) lit. f) GDPR.

Our legitimate interest is to present you with a functional, user-friendly and secure website.

We host the content of our website with the following provider: All-Inkl.
The provider is ALL-INKL.COM – Neue Medien Münnich, owner René Münnich, Hauptstraße 68, 02742 Friedersdorf (hereinafter All-Inkl).

The use of All-Inkl is based on Article 6 Paragraph (1) Letter f) GDPR.

We have a legitimate interest in ensuring that our website is presented as reliably as possible.
If appropriate consent has been requested, processing is carried out exclusively on the basis of Article 6 Paragraph (1) Letter a) GDPR and Section 25 Paragraph (1) TTDSG, the consent for the storage of cookies or access to information in the user's end device (e.g. device fingerprinting) within the meaning of the TTDSG. WP Statistics

This website uses the analysis tool WP Statistics to statistically evaluate visitor access. The provider is Veronalabs, Tatari 64, 10134, Tallinn, Estonia (https://veronalabs.com).

With WP Statistics we can analyze the use of our website. WP Statistics records, among other things, log files (IP address, referrer, browser used, user origin, search engine used) and actions that website visitors have taken on the site (e.g. clicks and views).

The data collected with WP Statistics is stored exclusively on our own server.

The use of this analysis tool is based on Article 6 Paragraph (1) Letter f) GDPR.

We have a legitimate interest in the anonymized analysis of user behavior in order to optimize both our website and our advertising.

We use WP Statistics with anonymized IP. Your IP address will be shortened so that it can no longer be assigned to you directly.

We only collect personal data (such as your name and email address) to the extent provided by you. We use your email address to process your request.
We store your data for as long as this is necessary to process your request and/or if legal retention obligations prevent the deletion of your data.

The legal basis for data processing is Article 6 Paragraph (1) Letter b) GDPR.

Our security standards

Your personal data is transmitted on our website over the Internet using the so-called SSL security system (Secure Socket Layer). This technology offers a high level of security and is therefore also used by banks, for example, for data protection in online banking. We secure our website and other systems through technical and organizational measures against loss, destruction, access, alteration or distribution of your data by unauthorized persons.

Data protection for applications and the application process

The person responsible for processing collects and processes the personal data of applicants for the purpose of processing the application process.
We use OpenBiblioJobs for the purposes of processing the application process and carrying out pre-contractual measures. Processing can also take place electronically. This is particularly the case if an applicant submits relevant application documents to the person responsible for processing electronically, for example by email or via a web form on the website. Your data will only be processed by the people responsible for personnel selection.

The data transmitted as part of your application is transmitted using TSL encryption and stored in a database. This database is operated by OpenBiblioJobs, which offers application management software (https://jobs.openbiblio.eu/impressum/). In this context, OpenBiblioJobs is our processor in accordance with Art. 28 GDPR. We have concluded an order processing agreement with OpenBiblioJobs in accordance with Art. 28 GDPR. The basis for processing is a contract for order processing between us as the responsible body and OpenBiblioJobs.

As part of the application process, the following data categories are processed: name, address, other contact details, date and place of birth, data on professional qualifications (e.g. CV, references, certificates, information on training and professional experience, etc.).

The data is generally collected from you unless it is communicated to us by the person you have named as a reference.

We process your personal data for the purpose of carrying out the application process, to the extent this is necessary. Data processing is carried out on the legal basis of Article 6 Paragraph (1) Letter b) GDPR.

After the application process has ended, we process your personal data based on our legitimate interest in defending ourselves against possible legal claims. The legal basis for data processing is Article 6 Paragraph (1) Sentence 1 Letter f) GDPR.

If you have consented to us processing your personal data beyond the end of the application process, the legal basis for data processing is Article 6 Paragraph (1) Sentence 1 Letter a) GDPR in conjunction with Section 26 Paragraph (2 ) BDSG.

We store any consent that may have been given to us in order to be able to prove that consent was given to us. The legal basis for processing for the purpose of proving consent is Art. 6 Para. (1) Sentence 1 Letter c) GDPR in conjunction with Art. 5 Para. (2), Art. 7 Para. (1) and Art . 24 GDPR and Article 6 Paragraph (1) Sentence 1 Letter f) GDPR.

More recipients

In order for us to process your data in accordance with the purposes described above, it may be necessary to also transmit your data to other recipients for processing.

We only pass on personal data to external parties if this is necessary to fulfill the contract, if we are legally obliged to do so, if we have a legitimate interest in accordance with Article 6 Paragraph (1) Letter f) GDPR have to be passed on or if another legal basis allows the data to be passed on.
When using processors, we only pass on our customers' personal data on the basis of a valid contract for processors. In the case of joint processing, a joint processing contract is concluded.

We may transfer personal data to other companies within our group of companies or allow them access to this data. If this transfer is made for administrative purposes, the transfer of the data is based on our legitimate entrepreneurial and business interests or takes place if it is necessary to fulfill our contractual obligations or if there is consent from those affected or legal permission.

We process your personal data with the support of processors who support us in providing the services (e.g. web host, email newsletter delivery service, merchandise management system, content management system, shop system, payment service provider, web agencies). These processors are required to strictly protect your personal data and are not permitted to process your personal data for any purpose other than to provide our services.

If we use external service providers to process your data, they have been carefully selected, commissioned and regularly checked by us. We ensure that personal data is used in accordance with instructions through appropriately concluded processing contracts with commissioned service providers. We limit the transfer of your personal data to what is necessary, taking into account data protection regulations.

Rights of those affected

You are entitled to the following statutory data subject rights, provided the requirements are met:

• Right to information about your data stored by us in accordance with Art. 15 GDPR,

• Right to correct inaccurate data in accordance with Art. 16 GDPR,

• Right to delete the data stored by us in accordance with Art. 17 GDPR,

• Right to restrict the processing of the data stored by us in accordance with Art. 18 GDPR,

• Right to data portability in accordance with Art. 20 GDPR,

• Right to revoke at any time in accordance with Art. 7 Para. (3) GDPR any consent that may have been given to us in accordance with Art. 6 Para. (1) lit. a) GDPR; This means that we are no longer allowed to continue the data processing based on this consent in the future,

• Right to object to the processing of personal data in accordance with Art. 21 Paragraph (1) GDPR,

• Right to lodge a complaint with a responsible supervisory authority in accordance with Article 77 of the GDPR if you believe that the processing of your personal data violates the provisions of the GDPR.

Right to object

In accordance with Art. 21 Para. (1) GDPR, you have the right to object at any time to the processing of your personal data, which is based on a legitimate interest in accordance with Art. 6 Para. (1) lit. f) GDPR .

If you object to the processing in accordance with Article 21 Para. (1) GDPR, we will no longer process your personal data unless we can demonstrate compelling legitimate reasons for the processing that outweigh your interests, rights and freedoms, or that Processing serves to assert, exercise or defend legal claims.
